A modern range of wooden designer table lamps inspired by the later, more elegant, geometric period of the Art Deco style.
The lamps have an unusual and distinctive hexagonal or octagonal pyramid shape, the wide base making them very stable.
Inlays of contrasting wood accentuate the geometric shape of the table lamps.
Two sizes of table lamp to choose from – small hexagonal, just right for a bedside table, and tall octagonal.
The small lamps are 26 mm (10 inches) tall and the large lamps 36 mm (14 inches). These heights include the brass light fitting.
The tall wooden lamps in particular, look very elegant when fitted with a wide conical shade, in a colour to match your decor.
Each size of lamp may also have decorative grooves, which further accentuate the geometric shape.
Coopering, a technique used in barrel making, is used to make the lamps. Small, flat sections of wood called staves are accurately cut and assembled to create the hexagonal and octagonal shapes. Very little wood is wasted.
A modern high-strength woodworking adhesive is used in the construction of each table lamp. The makers state that this is stronger than the wood itself.
Finished with special organic oils to enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Unlike some other finishes it can't be chipped. The oil soaks into the wood, sealing it against dust and moisture. Special driers in the oil ensure that the finish dries completely.
The table lamps have a brass bulb holder, with built-in switch.
Each lamp is fitted with approximately 2 metres (6 feet) of good quality white flex and a standard three-pin plug, with 3 amp fuse.
